Perseverance

I’m not as optimistic as Elon Musk. I don’t think that we’ll choose Mars as a home, and if we do, it will only be because we’ve screwed up this planet so badly that Mars somehow seems better. Alright, it could happen. But I’d rather it didn’t happen.

If I wanted to live in the wilderness, endure freezing temperatures and live in constant fear of death, I’d move to Alaska. I’m much happier to view Mars from afar, and I can do that because NASA is getting pretty good at lobbing robots across the cosmos.

The new photos from NASA’s Perseverance rover are incredible. I can’t wait to see what it discovers.
